We’re super excited to share this gorgeous wedding from last October with you. It was a crisp autumn day, a little chilly in the shade but otherwise the perfect autumn day for a wedding.
Chris and Nic met at university in Cardiff and on graduating they both found jobs in Bristol. Having made Bristol their home Chris proposed to Nic on the city’s iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge.
As we were planning their wedding photography with them they mentioned that they would love to bring elements of the bridge into their photos. We checked out a few locations whilst shooting their engagement portraits, but none of them felt quite right.
Arriving in town the night before the wedding and despite not knowing the city we were determined to find that perfect spot for their couples portraits. After an hour on Google maps we though we had it so even though it was dark we jumped in the car to check it out. It was the most perfect spot. We could not wait to take them there the next day…
Here are some of our favourite photos from their wedding!
That moment when the ring ‘won’t quite fit on the finger’…
Chris & Nic cheered in celebration as they walked down the aisle whilst Nic’s Dad danced to the sounds of Pharell’s ‘Happy’.
The stunning architecture at Woodlands Church in Bristol provided a great backdrop for some photos of the bride and groom whilst their guests enjoyed tea and cake inside!
After the ceremony they no longer had use of the official wedding car, and so Chris and Nic put their faith in us – strangers to the city – whilst a friend of theirs pimped his car up with some white ribbon and the five of us went off on a little adventure in search of the Clifton Suspension Bridge…
Thank you Google – the location was perfect and exactly what Chris and Nic had in mind. Look at some of the awesome photos, aren’t they the most stunning of couples!
Hannah, Chris’ sister made the delicious cake whilst Nic’s Mum handmade her silk bouquet and Chris’s button hole. What a very talented family!
The day before the wedding the bride and her bridesmaids also made all the decorations for the reception venue – it truly was a wedding with the couple’s individuality stamped on it!
St Mary Magdelene in Bristol is a Church on a Sunday but during the week hires the premises out for events – filled with twinkling fairy lights and jars of flowers it was a glorious location for the wedding breakfast.
The best man’s speech finished with a personalised message from Radio 1 DJ Charlie Sloth. Chris is a huge Charlie Sloth fan, the message had the top table, and indeed the whole room in hysterics!
After dinner there was traditional Ceilidh dancing.
The night finished with Nic and Chris running through a tunnel of sparklers.
What a completely fabulous wedding, with a gorgeous couple in a stunning location! Chris and Nic, we loved photographing your special day and we wish you all the best for married life together!
