At the end of August we finished our 2019 summer wedding season in style with the absolutely stunning wedding of Lisa & David at Morden Hall.
Built in the 1700’s & restored in 2015, Morden Hall is a country house set in beautiful National Trust parklands that belie it’s London location. It was one of those lovely hot days of late summer with sunshine & blue skies providing the perfect backdrop.
The day started with Lisa & her bridesmaids getting ready in the wonderfully calm Cherry Rooms on the first floor. With plenty of natural light & views over the idilic grounds this tranquil space was ideal for hair, make-up, champagne & a little pampering!
Lisa’s make-up was done by the very talented Becca Grey.
Whilst the bride & her bridesmaids were hidden away in Morden Hall, David & his Groomsmen opted to get ready at home.
The ceremony was held at the Sacred Heart Church in Wimbledon. I have to admit I do love weddings at picturesque traditional Churches!
It was then back to Morden Hall for the reception.
Whilst their guests enjoyed drinks & canapés on the lawn outside the house, we went for a wander around the grounds with Lisa & David to capture some photos of the two of them together.
Lisa’s bouquet & all the flowers at Morden Hall were done by the House of Flowers.
The tables for the wedding breakfast were names after places Lisa & David had been to together whilst the place settings used lavender from Mayfield Lavender Farm. Lisa & David were really keen to use local suppliers for their wedding & it was lovely to see their support for small businesses in their community.
All good weddings end with dancing! Lisa & David hired a live band to entertain their guests throughout the evening.
Whilst their guests danced the evening away we finished with a nighttime portrait of the new Mr & Mrs out on the bridge!
Lisa & David, thank you for choosing us to be a part of your wedding day. These are just a few of our favourite photos!
Ally & AJ x
“We cannot recommend Ally and AJ from Stonelock highly enough. We are so pleased that we met Ally and AJ at our local wedding fair. We were initially drawn to their style of photography and as soon as we started talking to them we knew we would feel really comfortable with them on our wedding day, exceeding expectations. Ally and AJ invested a huge amount of time in us in the run-up to the wedding. We had a number of catch-ups (they kindly came to a venue local to us each time to make things easy for us, they genuinely put us at the centre of the process) where we discussed timings, shots and getting to know each other. This meant a lot to us. The effort they put in to build a genuine relationship had a huge impact on their ability to integrate into friends and family on the day and capture the best possible moments for us. Ally and AJ really did feel like members of our bridal party and worked so hard to capture the day that we had planned. We knew the photos would be wonderful but what also stood out for us was the way in which Ally and AJ ensured that everything ran to plan on the day, from helping out with buttonholes and veils to coordinating guests as an extra pair of hands when the venue required. They really got to understand what was important to us and ensured that everything ran like clockwork. The resulting photos were better than we could have ever hoped for, and we’re so pleased to have met two of the nicest people you could hope to have there on your big day. A huge thank you, and we would comfortably use Ally and AJ again without hesitation.” Lisa & David, 2019
