Josephine & Shane’s summer wedding was one of those wedding’s that we love; something a little different, quirky & completely personal to them!
The day started with the ceremony at Burgh House in Hampstead with Josephine & Shane walking down the aisle together. They said their vows surrounded by friends & family before walking back up the aisle together as a married couple.
Champagne corks popped & guests were treated to a traditional English afternoon tea of scones with jam & cream & mini bowls of fresh strawberries & cream whilst sunning themselves in the small garden of the house.
Suitably refreshed, they boarded a vintage red London bus that was to take them to the wedding breakfast & reception at the Gherkin in the city of London. Many of the guests were from Josephine & Shane’s native Ireland & this was their first visit to London.
As the guests sat on the open topped bus, suncream & sunglasses on, sipping cool G&T’s a local tour guide took them on a whirlwind tour of London, capturing as many of the sights & sounds of the city in one short journey as he could. The weather was absolute perfection & what a way to travel on your wedding day!
Arriving at the Gherkin the wedding party were whisked through security & up to the 38th floor for drinks over looking the city before speeches & dinner was served.
Here are just a few of our favourite photos!
Burgh House is a historic house in Hampstead that is also home to the Hampstead Museum.
Josephine & Shane walked down the aisle together to the theme tune of one of their favourite TV shows, the West Wing!
A very traditional English afternoon tea!
Before boarding the bus the guests were given little goodie boxes containing a G&T, some snacks & a pair of sunglasses! Josephine & Shane had also thoughtfully arranged for suncream, hats & plenty of water to be available for their guest on what was a very hot day!
The bus tour took in many of London main attractions from Piccadilly Circus to Trafalgar Square.
Big Ben & the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye & the slightly newer Shard!
Over Tower Bridge! Taking photos on the top deck of a moving bus are quite possibly some of the trickiest shots we’ve been asked to take on a wedding day. Balance was key!
The view from the 38th floor.
Can you spot another West Wing reference?
As the speeches finished & dinner was served, we said goodbye to Josephine & Shane & left them to enjoy the evening with their guests.
A truly unique day! Josephine & Shane, thank you for allowing us to share it with you.
