I can’t believe it is very nearly Millicent & Arno’s first wedding anniversary & I am only just getting around to blogging their wedding photos! But then again, a winter, Christmas themed wedding would have looked strange on the blog in the middle of spring or summer so perhaps it’s somewhat appropriate!
On a very cold day last December Millicent & Arno tied the knot at the beautiful Oaks Farm in Croydon, Surrey. Oaks Farm is one of those venues that looks good all year round no matter what the season or what the weather.
For a December wedding, Millicent & Arno could not have asked for a more perfect day, a crisp carpet of frost at their feet & a beautiful blue sky above their heads. Perhaps a sprinkling of snow might have added to the festivities?
Millicent & Arno, happy first wedding anniversary… here are a few of our favourite photos from your gorgeous wedding. Thank your letting us share your special day with you.
Oaks Farm looking resplendent in the winter sun. This is the Stables, the ceremony venue.
Millicent & her bridesmaid got ready in the Orchard Cottage, a really cute space reserved for Brides on the morning of their wedding.
Arno arrived at Oaks Farm with his best man already dressed & ready to go!
As part of the ceremony both mothers lit individual candles, Millicent & Arno then lit a candle together symbolising their union.
It was about zero degrees but Millicent was insistent that she wasn’t feeling the cold!
As it was a matter of weeks until Christmas they brought a hint of the festivities into their decorations.
During the reception Millicent & Arno hosted a Chinese tea ceremony for their parents & her aunt. Arno’s parents had travelled over from South Africa specifically for the wedding & so this was a new cultural experienced for them.
Instead of speeches several close friends said a few words.
Oh, and it was also Millicent’s birthday! Arno has no excuse for forgetting either her birthday or their wedding anniversary now!
And every good wedding ends with dancing!
